History

Dorfak Shomal Steel Complex (Ltd) was registered on Rasht Organization of Deeds and Properties late in 1395 (Persian calendar) under the registration number of 11211 and was established by receiving permission from competent authorities on a piece of land measuring 87607/94 m2 in regard to producing Billets with the objective of employment and self-sufficiency in Steel industry. Operative activities were began during 1396 (Persian calendar) by receiving establishment permit from Guilan Organization of Industry, Mine and Trade, followed by technical studies and financial evaluations as well as purchasing advanced industrial machines from reputable Indian companies at the beginning of 1396 (Persian calendar) and their installation by local technical experts. Finally, despite all the existing barriers such as recession and sanctions, pilot production of this company was started in 1397 (Persian calendar) after some years of work and cooperation of this industrial complex involved practitioners. Therefore the company was permitted to receive exploitation license up to annual production capacity of 100 thousand tones in order to supply a part of country’s domestic demand and providing direct and indirect employment for 300 and 1000 people respectively.

The complex was planned to play a basic role in the industrial , economic and social development of Guilan Province and to enhance the quality level of the steel industry in various phases .In the first phase, the complex was commissioned by equipping the most modern machinery and continuous casting system with 3 lines with an investment of 2000 Billion Rials.

Having specialists and skillful forces with respect to its educational and research capacity and establishment of new management and quality controling systems under the supervision of the honorable managing director, Dorfak Shomal Steel Complex is honored to be recognized as the industrial design of the year 1398.
